The latest addition to the guided tour series is a wonderful, relaxing and gentle kayak tour. We will guide you on very calm water through the amazing and historic section of canal just outside Leixlip, Confey.

Guided Tours last 2 ½ hours and are suitable for complete beginners. We provide all the gear and equipment, so all you need do is enjoy the oasis of nature and serenity as you get some exercise and relax.

If you prefer to "do it yourself" you can hire a double kayak and all the other equipment from us and kayak along the canal from our location at Leixlip Confey. You can use the train to get to and from Leixlip Confey and Clonsilla/Castleknock and we also have parking facilities on site. You will need to start and finish at our location at Leixlip Confey.

Guided Kayak Tours run every Saturday and Sunday at 10am. Tours go at a leisurely, relaxed pace. It's all about enjoying yourself. Double Kayak Hire is available Wed-Sun @ 10am and Tue and Wed @ 6.30pm. Family Sessions Available Wed-Sun at 11am.

Guided Tours €55 per person. Kayak Hire is €45 euros per kayak (fits two adults and one child < 12). Family Sessions are 55 euros per adult and 29 euros per child

Getting There:

By Train:
Take the Commuter line to Leixlip Confey station. Outside the train station walk back over Cope bridge to the other side of the canal and turn right down to beautiful foot trail along the canal (10 mins) until you reach the green RCAG Centre.

By Car:
From Leixlip drive to Leixlip Confey train station continue over Cope bridge on the R149 until you reach a T junction. Turn right and follow the R149 until you reach the green Royal Canal Amenity Group centre on the right-hand side (1km).

From Lucan:
Take the Liffey bridge cross straight through the T junction towards Clonee, go straight through both roundabouts until you cross the Royal canal bridge. Take the first left down the R149, the green RCAG centre will the on the left-hand side (1km).

All you need to bring is something to wear under a wetsuit (togs or shorts and a sports top/t-shirt), footwear that you don't mind getting wet and a towel. If the weather is cool you might like to bring base layers, an old pair of tights, socks, a hat, fleece and a rain jacket (as appropriate). We will provide everything else.

We welcome children over the age of 10 to We can organise kayaking for kids parties. We can also run bespoke tours and family kayaking sessions.

We will accept children from as young as 6 using double sit on top kayaks and open canoes and from 11 years upwards using individual kayaks. And in case you were wondering... you are never too old!!

Yes, we do! We are specialists in corporate and large group providership. We can tailor make a package that's right for you and we can include food, fishing and entertainment if required.

Don't worry you don't need to be a pro - our trips are suitable for complete beginners and all of our gear and equipment is comfortable.

We will give you a wetsuit to wear or you can wear your own. Feel free to wear a rain jacket/pants or windbreaker or a thermal top/fleece over the wetsuit if you wish.
