Family ‘Give it a GO’ Kayaking
Whether you’re new to kayaking and looking to have your very first kayaking experience or you have kayaked before, our Give it a Go Family kayaking sessions are perfect for getting started, learning new skills and having a fun day out. These sessions are open to all family, friends and kids and take place at our calm, relaxed and scenic canal location and at our stunning Dalkey location.
In these classes, we focus on having fun, learning basic kayaking skills and enjoying the time on the water. They are run at a relaxed easy going pace by our friendly and highly qualified instructors.
All equipment is easy to use and comfortable to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. Further information in our FAQ Section.

Frequently Asked Questions
€55 per adult and €29 per child per session with an instructor in Dalkey or Royal Canal. Or you can hire your own kayak at the Royal Canal for 45 euros per kayak (double kayak fits two adults and one child < 12) Note: We do not hire kayaks at Dalkey
Our Dalkey location is Bullock Harbour and our for the canal meet at our Royal Canal Site.
Take the Commuter line to Leixlip Confey station. Outside the train station walk back over Cope bridge to the other side of the canal and turn right down to beautiful foot trail along the canal (10 mins) until you reach the green RCAG Centre.
From Leixlip drive to Leixlip Confey train station continue over Cope bridge on the R149 until you reach a T junction. Turn right and follow the R149 until you reach the green Royal Canal Amenity Group centre on the right-hand side (1km).
Take the Liffey bridge cross straight through the T junction towards Clonee, go straight through both roundabouts until you cross the Royal canal bridge. Take the first left down the R149, the green RCAG centre will the on the left-hand side (1km).
All you need to bring is something to wear under a wetsuit (togs or shorts and a sports top/t-shirt), footwear that you don’t mind getting wet and a towel. If the weather is cool you might like to bring base layers, an old pair of tights, socks, a hat, fleece and a rain jacket (as appropriate). We will provide everything else.
Don’t worry the flat, calm canal is perfect for complete beginners and our gear and equipment is very comfortable.
